Being a Thought Leader

One of the reasons I started this blog was so that I could have an easy way to start recording thoughts or ideas that came up during my own leadership journey. I'm determined that I will continue to study the topic of leadership my entire life.

So what exactly is a "thought leader?" My definition of a thought leader is a person who is not only a great leader, but also regularly contributes new and different thoughts and ideas in his area of expertise. If you are a business leader, you are developing new thoughts on business leadership, management, etc. If you are leading in a specific field, then you are contributing new thoughts in this area of expertise, and so on.

I wish to be a thought leader. I'm at the top of my game in the technology industry that I play in. However, as a business leader, I have a lot of work to do, and it's clearly a lifelong journey. I may not be in technology forever, but I know that in whatever I do, my leadership experience will apply. The more I have, the more I will be able to contribute.
